We are incredibly apologetic over a recent post featuring one of our social media influencers that used an anti-Asian term in describing a makeup style in an uneducated way. Our team, our partners, and our customers come from all walks of life and all corners of the globe. It has always been our mission to build a company that welcomes and celebrates the differences in all of us and to make everyone feel beautiful.
We are so sorry, especially to those in the Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander communities for any hurt this may have caused. We are taking this unfortunate opportunity to acknowledge our oversight, seize this moment and shed more light on the struggles of the AAPI community. We are taking the time to thoughtfully evaluate how we can become a greater advocate and have started by compiling a list of resources below.
We would never intentionally alienate anyone. We have learned and are growing from this error, and we take responsibility as a brand, both internally and externally.
Right now, we are taking immediate action to evaluate our internal review process and policies to ensure this does not happen again. Juvia’s Place is a brand that illuminates all the uniqueness and individuality of people all over the world. Thank you for your honesty. We are listening. We are not done with this conversation, and we welcome your guidance and feedback as we grow as a brand and as people.
